You Gotta LOVE Tina!

So, it’s your wedding day and you’re 73 years of age ………… what the hell do you wear??

I give you the awesome Tina Turner who recently got hitched in Switzerland ….

Now this is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but let’s be honest, at Tina’s age she couldn’t have rocked a dainty Vera Wang down the aisle now could she!  She’s a legend and so the dress had to be legendary and this green and black silk Armani hit the mark.  I’m not too sure about the sequin leggings poking out at the bottom but I have to admit Tina made a fashion yet age appropriate statement with this wedding gown and looks beautiful.  Take note ladies, you don’t have to go with an ivory, strapless, A-line gown for your big day.  Whilst you may not want to go as far as Tina has done, you might get inspiration from some of the other fabulous, iconic and unusual wedding dresses worn by stars such as Gwen Stefani and Anne Hathaway.

Olivia Palermo enters the ring ….

I have always been a fan of Olivia’s style and have to say she hasn’t disappointed in this outfit.  Unlike Nicole Ritchie, Olivia has decided to go with a bight, vivid, yellow dress to celebrate the warmer Spring weather.  There are things I love about this outfit but certainly a few things I’m not so keen on.

Olivia is always commended for her talent in pairing the right accessories with any outfit.  Generally, she goes with very polished and simple lines such as a top, jacket and pencil trousers for example but then makes the outfit stylish by adding a vintage necklace and amazing shoes.  Once again this is what Olivia has done.  However, there are a few things niggling at me.  I feel the addition of the jewelled necklace and belt is a tad too much.  I think she should have gone with one or the other.  I also have to point out that the fabric of this dress is badly wrinkled which is a pet hate of mine and tends to make the dress look cheap.  I also think the addition of the oversized clutch, again is just an accessory too far and is detracting from the overall look.

Let’s get back to the positives though!  Just look at these shoes!!!  Talk about screaming Spring/Summer!  They are absolutely stunning.   I believe they are Jimmy Choo and probably cost a small fortune but hey a girl can dream!  If you have the money to invest, these shoes could be worn to dress up a pair of shorts, cut off jeans, pencil trousers, a dress, jumpsuit …. the list is endless!

I’m in love with these outfits!!

Looking at some of the celebrity fashion styles this week, I just had to post about Nicole Ritchie and Olivia Palermo because I am so crushing on their outfits!

Let’s take Nicole first ….

Nicole is simply stunning in a black, sheer jumpsuit.  Even though it is creeping into Spring doesn’t necessarily mean that you should dump the darker colours ladies!!   Nothing beats black fabric as it’s classy, elegant, never goes out of fashion and is without a doubt the most slimming colour!

I LOVE the fact that she has teamed the jumpsuit with large silver ear rings and a navy blue velvet shoe.  It breaks the outfit up, adds both texture and  interest, keeping the overall look modern and stylish.  This just goes to prove that you can dig out your favourite jumpsuit and by adding interesting accessories and using them for a pop of colour, you can literally bring the outfit to life in the Spring!  Now onto Olivia ….

Too Thin??

We’ve all been there girls and me more than most to be honest.  I’ve tried every diet going from literally starving myself to no carb to gym addiction.  It seems we are constantly bombarded with images of the “body beautiful” in the media these days, but when do you cross the line and look too thin?

Nicole Ritchie and Victoria Beckham are always in the headlines for being too thin.  Are bones sticking out really attractive?  Is this what guys find sexy?  Personally, I have to say no but I appreciate that losing a few pounds does make you feel good!  Before you hit that crash diet you’ve heard about just think about 5 serious health conditions that can arise from being too thin…..

5: Heart Disease and Diabetes

4: Lowered Immune System

3: Anemia

2: Fertility Issues

1: Osteoporosis and Broken Bones

When I see girls for appointments in Belle Dress Hire that have curves in the right places, the evening dresses look so much better!  The dresses fit better and definitely have more shape.  Scarlett Johansson, Kate Upton and Kelly Brook show how having a few extra pounds of flesh on your bones really does look fantastic.

Serious Fashion Envy!

I am absolutely LOVING Nicole Ritchie and Julianne Hough!

Julianne’s mod dress is such a gorgeous tangerine colour which adds a splash of brightness to this current awful weather.  She makes me feel sunny just looking at her.  So chic and I would love this style for my wardrobe.  Nicole looks fabulous here as well in just a simple, long sleeved, black tee paired with grey, patterned harem pants.  As we all know, the harem trouser adds bulk to your shape so it definitely helps to be as slim as Nicole but she has very cleverly teamed the pant with a dark coloured top which is always more slimming and by tucking the top into the trousers we can see her neat waist.  Clever styling, clever girl.  Have fashion envy!
